In this role, you will:
Carry out mapping activities based on documented standards and procedures.
Gather data from various sources such as databases, surveys, and internal systems to ensure comprehensive and accurate data sets relevant to geospatial analysis, conduct data cleaning and validation.
Generate static and web-based maps and visualizations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Perform data analysis and apply analytical tools, statistical techniques, skills and processes to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and data governance frameworks.
Manage sensitive information in accordance with confidentiality and privacy standards, ensuring that data is handled securely at all stages.
Act as a data ambassador, promoting a data-driven culture across the organization.
Collaborate and build relationships with clients/stakeholders to collect and document data requirements.
What are we looking for:
Qualifications include a minimum of 2+ years experience and a 3-year college diploma or university degree in Geography, Geomatics, GIS, computer science or related field and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with using geospatial tools (ArcGIS and/or QGIS).
Experience with Excel for processing, cleaning and manipulating large datasets
Ability to assess accuracy and reliability of data and strong attention to detail.
Ability to identify patterns and trends in data.
Proficiency in standard computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
Familiarity with data management concepts, including data quality, data cleansing, standardization, metadata management, privacy, and security governance.
Ability to identify, investigate and analyze problems, identify root causes and risks, and apply technical, functional and organizational knowledge to develop solutions.
Ability to understand and ensure work is completed in compliance with applicable data and privacy policy and legislation.
Fluency in English is required, French is an asset
