This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, curiosity, and the opportunity to explore different environments.

Your Impact

  • Contribute to building investigation reports, design documentation, and technical appendices alongside seasoned building science professionals.
  • Participate in building envelope reviews, restoration assessments, site investigations, and condition verifications.
  • Perform non‑invasive investigations that may involve ladders, heights, confined spaces, and detailed field measurements.
  • Visit active construction sites to document observations, verify compliance, and collect field test results.
  • Support our involvement with a wide variety of buildings across residential, commercial and education sectors.
  • Develop towards specification writing and CRCA and project management roles.
  • Conduct property condition assessments and prepare clear, detailed depreciation reports used by strata corporations, asset managers, and building owners.
  • Develop capital plans that support long‑term decision‑making and responsible investment for diverse client groups.
  • Enhance the team’s knowledge systems by sharing insights, lessons learned, and best practices.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Post‑secondary education in Engineering Technology, Building Science, Architectural Science, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Eligibility or registration with ASTTBC or EGBC.
  • Foundational knowledge of building materials, construction processes, building envelope systems, and mechanical/electrical components.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, collect field data, and synthesize findings into clear and concise reports.
  • Comfortable working in varied field environments and performing hands‑on investigative tasks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience in consulting engineering, building assessments, or restoration work is considered an asset.
