Park Paving Ltd. has been locally owned and operated for over 50 years as one of the largest road construction contractors in Edmonton. We are currently seeking an experienced FOREMAN to join our UTILITY DIVISION. This is a full-time role that offers competitive wages and benefits.

As a Foreman - Utility, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing utility projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Your responsibilities will include:

  • This is a physically demanding position that requires the ability to:
  • Work long hours, overtime, and consecutive days as required
  • Must be able to perform all job duties in a wide range of (adverse) weather conditions
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, balance, and climb
  • Exerting heavy physical effort (handling average weight objects up to 50lbs safely)
  • Labour activities required to complete the job (shoveling, raking, hammering pins, sweeping, operating small compaction gear)
  • Ability to operate equipment required to complete the project

Additional duties are as follows:

  • Have a clear understanding of the job you are to complete and understand the production goals and targets for the job
  • Ensure quality workmanship as required by client/project specifications (i.e. all work must meet required specifications)
  • Organize manpower to complete job in a productive and efficient manner, and delegate responsibility when required.
  • Work with Clients, Consultants, Testers, Park Paving Employees and all others in an efficient and respectful manner. Maintain open lines of communication with them and strive to foster strong positive working relationships.
  • Provide your direct supervisors with advanced notice of testing, and awareness of the results
  • Confirm with Project Superintendent before any force account work is commenced
  • Experience in leadership roles with managing crews by organizing and implementing their daily tasks
  • Strong leadership and decision making skills in fast paced, complex environments
  • Ability to work long hours 5 to 6 days a week.
  • Ensure crews work in a safe and productive manner
  • Complete all safety documentation, which can include daily safety meetings, inspections, permits
  • Must be physically fit, repetitive lifting, bending, kneeling, and walking for long periods of time
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Pay Scale: Starting at $40 Per Hour
