SALARY RANGE: Starting at $79,591.00 Per Annum

POSITION TYPE: Full-time, Permanent

LOCATION: Prince Albert

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Ma Faamii Manager

Brief Overview:

Under the direction of the Ma Faamii Manager, the Ma Faamii Operations Supervisor will provide operational and financial management for the Ma Faamii’s team-based operations and services. In collaboration with the Ma Faamii Manager, the Ma Faamii Supervisor will support and manage the growth and expansion of services as needed. As needed, the Supervisor will also provide support to Citizen Support Workers and provide navigation services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership to Ma Faamii’s under the guidance of the Ma Faamii Manager including assisting with developing and implementing an annual strategic plan, communications strategy, workplans, and operational and capital budgets.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain operational policies and procedures that are in alignment with MN-S.
  • Develop and maintain effective work relations and partnerships with other MN-S departments and external agencies.
  • Assist with recruitment, selection, training, and on-boarding of new employees as required.
  • Build and manage annual and 5-year budget plans and complete a quarterly variance reporting as per MN–S financial and operational reporting cycles.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with service partners including MN-S government departments, provincial and federal government agencies, and other key stakeholders.
  • In collaboration with the Ma Faamii Manager, recruit and retain a team of experienced staff members focused on achieving the strategic goals and objectives of Ma Faamii.
  • Create a culture of transparency, accountability, and open communication throughout Ma Faamii.
  • As needed, support the Citizen Support Workers with providing navigation services to citizens.
  • As a Ma Faamii team member, contribute to the creation and continued improvement of data collection processes.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Ma Faamii Manager.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in in human services or equivalent combination of academic, professional and/or lived experience.
  • Minimum three years of experience in a management role within the health, social services, or community/public service sectors.
  • Proficient in accounting software and experienced in developing and implementing operational policies and procedures.
  • Training in suicide prevention, addictions, and child and family welfare is considered an asset.
  • Training in leadership, public policy and/or statistical analysis, and/or grant writing, is considered an asset.


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Familiar with the principles of person-centered and trauma-informed care.
  • Leadership and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to communicate in Indigenous languages is an asset but not a requirement.
  • Quick thinking and problem-solving skills to address time sensitive issues.
  • Ability to effectively delegate responsibilities.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate data and provide strategic direction.
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Extensive knowledge of available community resources.
  • Effective in-person and digital communication skills.
  • Knowledge of intergenerational trauma and/or working with Indigenous people, families and/or communities. Specifically, the unique challenges and experiences of Métis citizens.
  • Understanding of the factors which contribute to housing instabilities, mental health challenges, and addictions.
  • Understanding of the dynamics of inter-governmental system barriers related to accessing housing, health care, food security, mental health care, child and family services, social services, transportation, etc.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Full Microsoft Office 365 suite and Adobe tools.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and access reliable transportation
  • Must undergo a Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector
  • Must be able to travel 1-2 times a month.
