Our Chalk River location is seeking a Corporate Controller to lead corporate accounting and financial reporting while upholding the highest standards of financial stewardship and operational excellence.

What will you be doing!

  • Leading financial statements preparation, close, consolidation, and reporting.
  • Overseeing accounting functions (General Labour, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Fixed Assets).
  • Maintaining accounting policies and ensuring reporting accuracy.
  • Overseeing accounting for non-owned assets and stewardship activities.
  • Ensuring the applicability of Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) and the segregation of reporting.
  • Providing guidance on complex accounting judgments.
  • Maintaining internal control framework and audit readiness.
  • Leading audit coordination and remediation of findings.
  • Driving process improvement and systems enhancements.
  • Overseeing project accounting and cost allocations.
  • Supporting stakeholders with financial insights.
  • Leading and developing finance teams and promoting an accountability culture.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:

  • Education
    • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required.
    • Master's of Business Administration (MBA) an asset.
  • Experience
    • 10+ years progressive experience in accounting/controllership, IFRS, audit, internal controls, regulated environments.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Technical accounting expertise, leadership, communication, problem-solving, financial systems knowledge.
    • Knowledge of International Finance Reporting Standards (IFRS), PSAS, project-based accounting, governance frameworks.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
    • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”

Working Conditions:

  • Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.

Location: Fully Remote

This position is offered on a fully remote basis, allowing you to work from home anywhere in Canada. You’ll collaborate virtually with a dynamic team across CNL sites, helping to advance Canada’s clean energy and environmental goals from your home office.
