For over 50 years, Park Paving Ltd. has been locally owned and operated, growing to become one of Edmonton’s largest and most respected road construction contractors. We are currently seeking a Project Manager to join our Excavation Services team.

This role is essential in managing the successful execution of excavation services on a variety of construction projects—ensuring compliance with safety regulations, managing personnel and personnel performance, and delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete bids and estimates for excavation and earthworks scopes, including developing detailed schedules and execution strategies for every project.
  • Work with other department supervisors to coordinate and oversee the day-to-day operations of excavation crews in the execution of various construction projects.
  • Manage personnel and assets based on project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations to meet contractual commitments and cost performance targets.
    • Includes working with other department supervisors to recruit and develop personnel across all excavation positions.
  • Liaise and coordinate with clients, project managers, inspectors/consultants and any other project stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of work.
  • Lead/attend project meetings and maintain clear communication across all stakeholders.
  • Monitor work progress/production, identify potential risks, and implement corrective measures to ensure all project cost and performance targets are met.
  • Promote a culture of safety, ensure that all personnel under your supervision are adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including reports, logs, and records.
  • Consistently deliver projects that meet quality standards, timelines, and budget targets.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in supervising multiple construction crews, specifically in excavation projects.
  • Completion of post-secondary program/degree in business or engineering (e.g. CET) and PMP designation is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and leadership skills—able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proven problem-solving ability and capacity to perform under pressure.
  • Proficiency with project/construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and budget preparation.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary (to be negotiated based on experience).
  • Allocation of a company vehicle.
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package including:
    • Dental Care
    • Extended Health Care
    • Vision Care
    • RRSP Matching Program
