Location: Prince George CCRR (2020 Massey Drive, Prince George, BC V2L 4V7)

Term: Permanent, Full-Time

Hours: 35 hours per week

Shift: Monday-Friday, including some evenings and weekend shifts as required

Start Date: As soon as possible

Salary: $63,687.00 annually

Reports To: Manager, CCRR Program

Nature & Scope

At the YMCA, we’re committed to helping children and families thrive. Child Care Resource and Referral (CCRR) provides services and support to childcare providers and parents throughout Prince George, Quesnel and Vanderhoof. We work to enhance the availability and quality of childcare services by providing information, support, resources as well as referral services to families and child care providers across our region.

Under the direction of the CCRR Program Manager, the Program Supervisor will implement and ensure the delivery of CCRR services in the communities of Prince George, Quesnel and Vanderhoof.

The CCRR is funded by the Ministry of Children and Family Development.

Major Responsibilities- in this position, you will:

  • Know, understand and maintain all Provincial standards in the delivery of CCRR services
  • Oversee the delivery of CCRR services to child care providers and families, ensuring Provincial Standards and YMCA Policies and Procedures are followed
  • Provide strong customer service and support to those individuals and organizations utilizing the services of the YMCA CCRR
  • Provide leadership and day-to-day supervision of all direct reports
  • Provide direct front line service as required
  • Work collaboratively with the CCRR Program Supervisors from the Greater Vancouver region to evaluate service delivery and ensure consistency
  • Represent the YMCA CCRR in the community and maintain positive relationships with other community agencies.
  • Participate in committees and community development projects as directed by the Program Manager
  • Provide oversight to CCRR working groups as directed by the Program Manager
  • Travel to Vanderhoof to support staff and program operations

Qualification-you bring:

  • Early Childhood Education Certificate, Diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Infant/Toddler Educator Special Needs Educator Certificates are an asset
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working with children and families in childcare programs.
  • Minimum 3 years of direct supervisory experience leading staff in a child care, family or community program setting.
  • Experience supervising, coaching and mentoring a staff team
  • Ability to set priorities and meet operational goals
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills
  • Ability to model professionalism and accountability
  • Experience working in collaboration with other community agencies and service providers.
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptable and multi-task in a high demand environment.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and manage time effectively
  • Administrative experience, background in customer experience, computers and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Vehicle required
  • Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.
