Hot Cell Planning Lead

What will you be doing!

  • Overseeing facility scheduling and work planning activities to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Interfacing with hot cell customers to understand work scope, durations, and milestone due dates.
  • Interfacing with hot cell staff to ensure job files are accurate, complete, and kept up to date.
  • Overseeing the planning team and representing the facility in internal and customer planning meetings.
  • Qualifying as a designated Facility Supervisor by completing the established training plan.
  • Providing Facility Supervisor coverage during vacations and sick leave as required.
  • Qualifying as a Nuclear Criticality Control Officer through the established training program.
  • Maintaining the facility's fissile material inventory and coordinating with Nuclear Material Safeguards and the IAEA as part of planning activities.
  • Supervising, mentoring, and motivating a small planning team.
  • Chairing Plan of the Day meetings and performing Facility Supervisor responsibilities as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:

  • Education
    • College Diploma in a technical field or 10+ years of relevant experience in operations, maintenance, work management, and/or other nuclear facility experience.
    • PMP certification is an asset.
    • Holding qualifications as a designate Facility Supervisor, or having the ability to obtain them.
  • Experience
    • Experience with the operation or maintenance of a hot cell facility is an asset.
    • Experience or knowledge of Post‑Irradiation Examination (PIE) work is considered an asset.
    • Experience managing and resolving scheduling conflicts with internal and external customers professionally and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Serving as the primary interface with internal and external customers, with a solid understanding of hot cell capabilities and the types of work performed.
    • Possesses high‑level understanding of hot cell workflows, task durations, and key operational interfaces.
    • Demonstrated a strong understanding of job planning fundamentals.
    • Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills when representing the Hot Cells organization in planning and scheduling activities.
    • Demonstrated strong understanding of hot cell operations and facility workflows.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
    • Level 2 Secret requires a minimum of 7 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”

Working Conditions:

  • Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.
  • The hot cell facility is a licensed nuclear facility: OSH and RP hazards are present.
