What can you expect in this role?

Reporting to the Director, Data management, you will be part of an innovative and dynamic team that translates business needs and opportunities into data-driven solutions for the Commercial Insurance business.

This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in data analytics, product development, and collaboration with business stakeholders, while supporting the creation of scalable data products on cloud platforms.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support the design and development of data products for Commercial Insurance
  • Perform exploratory data analysis using SQL, Python, or similar tools
  • Contribute to data documentation, data quality, data process controls and governance activities.
  • Participate in requirement gathering sessions and help document business requirements
  • Learn and apply modern data tools, analytics practices, and Agile methodologies

What You Bring

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Must have at least intermediate knowledge of SQL and/or Python (academic or work experience)
  • Knowledge of GCP platform, BigQuery, JIRA, GIT tools and prior experience in P&C insurance is an asset.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Interest in data analytics, data science, or data engineering
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams
