About the role:

The Maintenance Agent plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of guest rooms and public areas of the establishment. This position ensures that all assigned areas meet the highest standards of hygiene and presentation, directly contributing to guest satisfaction and comfort. The agent will be responsible for the efficient management of cleaning tasks while adhering to safety protocols and properly using cleaning chemicals and equipment. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential for success in this role. Ultimately, the Maintenance Agent helps create a welcoming and hygienic environment that supports the establishment’s reputation and operational excellence.

Minimum requirements:

  • Basic reading and writing skills in English to understand instructions and communicate effectively.
  • Experience or knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemicals used in housekeeping.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as pulling objects, standing for long periods, and working on weekends.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact respectfully with clients and team members.
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards and procedures to ensure a clean and safe environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience in a housekeeping or janitorial role within the hospitality industry.
  • Certification or training in cleaning safety and chemical handling.
  • Ability to speak additional languages to better assist a diverse clientele.
  • Experience in room service operations and customer relations.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas in accordance with established standards and procedures.
  • Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and effectively to maintain hygiene and sanitation.
  • Restock room supplies such as toiletries, linens, and amenities to ensure guest comfort.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards observed during cleaning to the appropriate department.
  • Provide courteous and professional room service, responding promptly to guests' requests and questions.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to achieve daily cleaning goals and schedules.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations, including the proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
  • Keep accurate records of cleaning activities and stock usage as needed.
