Position Title: Employment and Education Specialist

Program: Foundry Work and Education Program

Location: Foundry Quebec St. (490 Quebec St, Prince George, BC V2L 5N5)

Term: Permanent, Full-Time (opportunity to start part-time during summer and transition to full-time in September)

Hours: 35-40 hours per week (negotiable)

Shift: Monday-Friday, during business hours

Start Date: July 06, 2026

Salary: $27-$30 per hour, based on education and experience

Reports To: Director, NBC Community Programs

Nature & Scope

Passionate about helping young people lead a good life, the successful candidate will provide individualized and intensive support for young people to identify and strive for employment and education goals. Employment and Education Specialists will offer services based on the Integrated Placement Support model and work directly with young people and their supports. The role is part of the larger multi-disciplinary Foundry Prince George team and will work alongside other Foundry team members and community and natural supports to help young people progress towards their goals.

Major Responsibilities- in this position, you will:

  • Implement Integrated Placement Support services for young people with varying mental wellness, complex needs, and/ or neurodiversity
  • Assess youths’ employment and education goals, interests, and needs; work with youth and supports to plan and execute outcome-oriented services to meet needs and goals
  • Provide range of supports to meet youth needs, including outreach and coordination
  • Participate in evaluation and quality improvement
  • Work in an integrated way with interdisciplinary Foundry team and work closely with other professionals, services providers, educators, and employers
  • Perform varied administrative functions to support the program
  • Track referrals and engage young people on the interest list who are waiting to participate in the full program
  • Alongside Foundry Works and Education team members, contribute to recruitment, program evaluation, and reporting
  • Contribute to client records using Foundry’s Toolbox platform and integrated electronic medical record (MOIS)
  • Design and deliver relevant workshops, develop and share materials and tools to support young people
  • Carry a caseload, work as part of an integrated team, lead coordination of other supports and services when indicated
  • Hold drop-in hours or single session workshops for young people on the interest list
  • Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with employers, educators, and related systems and services

Qualification-you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and 2 years working with youth and/ or in the employment and education sector, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong personal and professional boundaries
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Team oriented and able to work independently, including in the community
  • Motivated, well organized, and a creative problem solver
  • Genuine interest in working with young people experiencing barriers to employment and education
  • Advocacy and systems navigation skills; persistence and patience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to contribute effectively to electronic medical record and evaluation platforms
  • Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a vehicle while on shift
  • Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.
