We are seeking a Buyer / Contracts Specialist to support both procurement and contract administration activities on site. This dual-function role plays a key part in ensuring materials, services, and contracted work are effectively sourced, managed, and delivered to support ongoing operations and projects.

Please note that this role is located in Kamloops, BC and is a 6-month contract role with a chance of extension.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement / Buying

Process purchase requisitions and create purchase orders in ERP systems (SAP or similar)
Source and procure materials, equipment, and services from approved suppliers
Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve supply issues
Expedite orders and monitor delivery timelines
Support inventory and warehouse teams with materials coordination
Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures
Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers

Contracts

Support preparation, review, and administration of contracts and service agreements
Coordinate RFQs, tenders, and competitive bid processes
Assist with vendor evaluations and commercial assessments
Work with project and operations teams to define scope of work requirements
Track contract performance, milestones, and deliverables
Support contract negotiations and vendor communications
Maintain accurate contract documentation and records
Assist in resolving contractual or commercial issues as they arise

5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, contracts administration, or a related field (mining, construction, or heavy industry preferred).
Experience with competitive bidding.
Strong understanding of purchasing and contracting processes.
Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP (S/4HANA an asset).
Exposure to RFQs, tendering, and vendor management.
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Detail-oriented with strong documentation and compliance focus.
