Job Summary

Nak’azdli Education & Training Services (NETS) is seeking a motivated and organized NETS Assistant to provide administrative and program support to the NETS Department and the BladeRunners Program. Working under the direction of the NETS Coordinator, the NETS Assistant plays a key role in supporting participants, coordinating programming, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical and administrative support, including typing, filing, and record management
  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and supporting workshops and training programs
  • Meet one-on-one with community members to assist with resume updates and job searches
  • Oversee participant intake, screening, and selection processes
  • Maintain and update job boards on a weekly basis
  • Promote and develop posters for upcoming programs through newsletters, social media, and community bulletin boards
  • Provide ongoing guidance and support to program participants
  • Monitor attendance and address participant concerns as they arise
  • Make appropriate referrals to external agencies or services when required
  • Collaborate with Industry Training Authority (ITA) representatives, apprentices, and employers
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the NETS Coordinator
  • Support the Education Team as assigned by the Education Manager

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED, with relevant experience delivering front-line services
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and email
  • Familiarity with standard office procedures and practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Knowledge of local community resources and how to access them
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Professional, respectful, and culturally sensitive approach when working with others
  • Familiarity with Dakelh culture is an asset
  • Must be willing to complete a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check

Working Conditions

  • Meeting people, making phone calls, and sending emails.
  • Sitting for long periods of time and attend meetings.
  • Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computers and peripherals.

Hours of Work

Hours of work are normally from Monday to Friday for 7 hours per day from 8:00 am pm to 4:00 pm shifts, with 1-hour unpaid lunch break, for up to 35 hours per week, and it is expected that all work will be completed within your regular working hours, however, you may be required from time to time to work outside of your normal hours of work.
