Physical Requirements: A Click Cut, Splitt Operator is required to stand and will remain on their feet for extended periods. They must also be able to consistently lift and move items weighing up to 30 plus pounds. Fine finger motion is also required for this position. Primary Purpose: The Click, Cut, Split Operator will be responsible for operating leather cutting, skiving and splitting machines, as well as prepare and die-cut lining panels accurately. This role involves ensuring that all cutting , splitting and skiving is done to meet specifications or is following instructions provided. The operator must remain focused and precise to ensure minimal waste and optimal material usage during cutting, and that minimal or no damage to the cut panels occurs during the splitting and skiving processes. As a Click, Cut, Split Operator, you should demonstrate expertise in handling different types of leather, fabric and reinforcement materials and using various cutting and splitting techniques to achieve flawless results. To ensure success, you should display a strong understanding of machinery maintenance, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the production process. An exceptional operator will consistently meet production standards while prioritizing safety and quality. Duties and Responsibilities: Operate and maintain clicker press machines to cut leather or fabric lining into specified shapes or panels. Ensure that the cutting process is precise, and panels are cut accurately with minimal waste. Verify the quality and uniformity of the leather before cutting, ensuring it meets the required standards. Use leather splitting and skiving machines to reduce the thickness of leather panels as per specifications. Monitor the splitting process to ensure that the leather is consistently split to the correct thickness. Ensure all cutting, splitting and skiving meet design specifications and quality standards. Regularly inspect and clean machines to ensure smooth and efficient operation. Troubleshoot and resolve machine malfunctions or technical issues; only handle functions which were outlined during the training process. Keep the workspace organized and free of unnecessary clutter. Clean the working surfaces before switching to a different material or a different leather colour. Adheres to all health and safety regulations and related company policies. Job Specifications: Specific training or certification in operating cutting, skiving or splitting machinery is considered an asset. Prior experience in a leather production environment, particularly in die-cutting, skiving or splitting roles, is preferred. Able to work well with others in a fast-paced environment. Fast learner with a can do attitude. Reliable with a good attendance record and a focus on punctuality. Able to work extended hours as required to meet business demands.
