You are excited to build and support DevOps platforms to help provide enablement to our Engineering squads. Supporting them to realize and refine their Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery practices and providing real value to their day-to-day software development lifecycle.
We are growing, and we are looking for a DevOps Platform Engineer for our team!
Position Responsibilities:
Complete evaluation, identification, and automation for the administration of various tools used in the DevOps Engineering Infrastructure
Develop, build and maintain pipeline automation scripts and process
Support and maintain the DevOps tooling platforms, including participation in an off-hours on-call rotation. Select regular working hours will overlap Monday–Friday with Canada Eastern Time business hours.
Apply organizational and problem-solving abilities that enable you to manage through creative abrasion.
Leverage strong verbal and written communication with the ability to effectively articulate and communicate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes.
Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, and operations engineers to uncover pain points and opportunities to deliver new business value through innovative platform solutions.
Participating in ideation and brainstorming sessions to devise creative platform solutions. We need and value fresh ideas!
Leading various investigative "Spikes" in order to mitigate technical uncertainty and risk.
Be part or lead some initiatives to develop and improve standards, practices and methodologies.
Working closely with the Technical Product Owner to refine the Product Backlog including providing initial estimates and actively participating with the weekly Look Ahead meetings.
Promote a co-operative work environment through building relationships with our stakeholders and driving enhancements to the end-to-end process (workstation to production)
Collaborate with architects and solution delivery leadership to understand, design and deliver platform desired state configuration
Delver implementation of production reliability and usage metric capture, targeting logging, monitoring, and automated insight’s, optimize user experience by collaborating with platform users to understand context and challenges
Mentor and coach other platform engineers on the team as required
Required Qualifications:
Platform technical delivery services (3 to 5 years)
Advanced knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes clusters (Azure Kubernetes Service knowledge is a plus)as well as other components supporting a highly automated, resilient engineering platform
Experience working with Public/Private/Hybrid cloud architecture (PaaS), preferably Azure, AKS, Azure SQL, etc.
Knowledge or experience with SCM tools and best practices (GIT, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Artifactory, SonarQube, Snyk, GitGuardian)
Knowledge of Configuration Management tools (Chef, Ansible, etc.,)
Experience with OS platforms such as Linux, Unix and Windows
Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, etc.
Experience with networking protocols such as TCP, UDP, HTTP, etc and network security protocols such as SFTP, HTTPS, TLS, etc
Experience with Platform monitoring and continuous improvement
Experience administering and configuring web server technologies (Apache, WebLogic, Nginx, etc.,)
Experience with Database Technologies such as MS SQL, Oracle, DB2 and query languages such as PSQL, TSQL
Working with Agile and Lean solution delivery models and tools
