Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. GFT’s impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.
Credit Risk Reporting (CRR) is a risk reporting platform application within Risk Compliance Technology(RCT) under GFT. In this role you will be responsible for leading project for requirements gathering; and supporting development and testing teams for medium to large size project initiatives. The role will coordinate, lead, communicate and execute activities to ensure objectives are accomplished according on time. In addition, using AI tool like Github Copilot/RBC Assist is required to reduce the admin related work through the SDLC process.
The Lead Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will be responsible for requirements gathering; and supporting development and testing teams for medium to large size project initiatives. Our projects are large-scale and high-profile that include both critical internal business initiatives and regulatory projects that work with high data volume. You will be exposed to understanding the business nature and data representation of major banking products. You will work with business stakeholders, development teams, quality assurance teams and vendors to build industry leading, efficient, and scalable solutions.
What will you do?
Lead BSA activities across analysis and design; govern adherence to enterprise requirements methodology.
Elicit, document, and manage requirements (system specs, data catalogs, use cases) for medium–large initiatives.
Analyze data integration options; assess materiality and impact of data quality issues; recommend solutions.
Contribute to data model and solution architecture decisions for high-volume risk data.
Support development and QA through the SDLC; identify risks and drive mitigation to deliver on time and on budget.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Undergraduate degree or higher, preferable in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or Finance.
5+ years as a Senior BSA in banking delivering system implementation/integration/re-engineering programs.
Deep understanding of banking book and trading book products.
Advanced SQL with strong data analysis and root-cause problem solving.
Proven collaboration, professionalism, and ability to lead while executing independently across priorities.
Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, SQL; ability to leverage AI tools (GitHub Copilot, RBC Assist).
Nice-to-have
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and/or Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designations
Experience with Big Data or Database technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Pyspark)
Data Science, Data Analytics or Data Reporting experience
