Investment Coordinator (12 Months Contract)

What You’ll Do

The Investment Coordinator will play a key role in Jumpstart’s commitment to strengthening community sport across Canada, and in ensuring all kids have an opportunity to realize the benefits of participating in sport and play. Reporting to the Manager, Investment and Impact, the Investment Coordinator will support the review and due diligence of Jumpstart’s granting process. This role plays a key role in supporting Jumpstart’s needs-led granting, including listening, responding and incorporating community need into process and procedure.

  • Support Grant Management Due Diligence and Review of Grant Applications:

    • Support all aspects of the grant process, including grant management system administration and optimization.

    • Communicate with potential applicants and support the development of resources to provide guidance on the grant criteria and process.

    • Evaluate grant applications to ensure they meet Jumpstart's standards and criteria.

    • Prepare detailed grant reports with findings and recommendations for review and approval.

  • Report on Investment Decisions and Outcomes;

    • Document and communicate investment decisions to relevant stakeholders.

    • Create reports highlighting key metrics, successes, and areas for improvement.

  • Coordinate with Internal Stakeholders:

    • Ensure effective delivery of funds.

    • Monitor funded projects to ensure they meet agreed-upon milestones and objectives and communicate compliance.

  • Assist in Improving Investment Processes to Meet Community Needs:

    • Support the solicitation of feedback from community members and stakeholders to understand their needs and priorities.

    • Support the implementation of changes that align grant-making activities with community needs.

What You Bring

  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline.

  • Experience working with grant management systems (prior experience with SmartSimple an asset).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to pro-actively identify process improvements and build value added analytics/reporting.

  • Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and workplace solutions including Teams and SharePoint.

  • Sport and recreation/community-based experience an asset.

  • Previous work/volunteer experience in a corporate environment or at a charitable organization an asset.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

  • Adaptable and open to evolving priorities, demonstrating flexibility in a dynamic work environment

  • Bilingual an asset (French and English) – speaking, reading, writing.

Our typical hiring range is between $30.00 per hour and $32.00 per hour. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements.
